Happy Kwanzaa!!! Umoja in Action: Strengthening Communities with PSN
At Project Safety Nets (PSN), the principle of Umoja, or unity, isn’t just a concept; it’s a driving force behind our work. By coming together and fostering strong partnerships, we can create real change in the world.
Take, for example, our annual Girls’ Conference in Senegal showcases the power of unity. Together with local partners, we bring together young girls from diverse backgrounds to empower them through education and mentorship. This event not only promotes unity among the girls but also fosters collaboration between PSN and local organizations, amplifying its impact. Thanks to our partnership with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Eta Omicron Sigma Chapter, we were able to distribute Golden Girl bags with hygiene kits, including washable pads and a mosquito bed net, to all participants.
Umoja is more than just a principle to us; it’s a guiding philosophy. Through unity and collaboration, PSN continues to strengthen communities, empower individuals, and make a lasting difference in the world.
